Pink Lakes Pantry – Sunday Opening Hours
As you will be aware we have cancelled the delivery of Sunday papers but are continuing with our Saturday delivery for the immediate future (volunteers are having to drive to Ouyen each Saturday to pick up the Herald Suns and the Sunraysia Dailys). The volunteers have been keeping a record of the numbers of “shoppers” for the hour opened each Sunday and the numbers are very low. As a result, we have decided not to open the Pink Lakes Pantry on Sundays from this week for the time being. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but hope you understand that we are already asking so much of our very busy volunteers and think they deserve “Sundays Off”.
Pink Lakes Pantry Footy Tipping Windup
Well……that’s the end of the season for our tippers and what a season it’s been!!! A reminder to
everyone that we will be having our Presentation Evening on Friday of this week (30th of August) at the Bowls Clubrooms commencing at 5.30 pm. All Tippers, partners and families are welcome to come along
and enjoy the evenings presentations, pizza and nibbles and drinks from the bar (you pay). Who will win??? Who will be Runner Up??? Come along and find out!!
If you are attending, please let me know for catering purposes in the Facebook Comments, or put your
name on the list on the counter at the shop or text me on 0407 946376. Cheers Colleen

PINK LAKES PANTRY PAPER DELIVERY
As you may or may not be aware, we have had a change to our weekend paper deliveries to the Pink Lakes due to a change in contractors and the weekend closure of the Walpeup shop. We have had to rely on the huge generosity of our volunteers who had been travelling to Walpeup to pick up our papers and in recent weeks having to travel into Ouyen. We have decided to cancel our Sunday papers and we need to reassess whether we continue with the Saturday papers. We are continuing to have problems arise and sometimes with short notice or no notice. We will keep you informed moving forward.

Watch Out for Trains
Saturday 17-August:
It will be the first standard gauge passenger train to operate along the remote outback branch line from Ouyen to Murrayville to explore the spectacular Murray-Sunset National Park. The Vinelander will take the path less travelled, venturing west where few trains operate along Victoria’s most remote branch line - the 109km link between Ouyen and Murrayville taking in the sights of Walpeup and Underbool.
As this is an Underbool home game for football and netball, we would like to advise all the community to be aware of the train coming through. We also encourage everyone to safely greet and welcome the train as it passes through our town.

This meant they had to sit around and wait. We are already asking so much of our volunteers who are all busy with their own lives and commitments, so feel maybe we need to reassess our weekend paper deliveries. We will keep you informed.

Attention all CFA members: If at any stage you drive past our station and think the lawns both sides and/or leaves need a clean up etc, it would be a great help to volunteer and utilise the ride-on mower we have in the storage shed for just this purpose! It helps keep our station neat and tidy and continues to show how proud of our facility we are! Thanks in advance.
Any questions regarding fuel/starting etc., contact Camo
