Outreach Library service
Description
From Tuesday 30th October 2018 a weekly outreach visit began at the Underbool Linga Memorial Hall 10am to 1pm. Covid19 restrictions in 2020 (March 20 onwards) meant visits were cancelled. From April 6th 2021, the service recommenced on a fortnightly basis and only 2 hours from 11am to 1pm.
As from July 11th, 2023, the library is operating from the west end meeting room. With permission from the Hall Committee, a new library space has been set up by staff making a user friendly space for browsing and borrowing items but also with wifi computer access and a space for socialising during library visits.
Currently, there are many new items to browse. Items on shelves will be refreshed periodically. Enter by the ramp and door at west end of hall.
This new arrangement reduces the amount of loading/unloading of trolleys that staff were previously required to do making library visits more sustainable.
Come along and enjoy this library space and find out more about what is available through your local library service.
Some pictures from 2018 showing the previous set up.
Membership is free to all residents - to register, take ID which shows your name and current address. A parent or guardian must be present to register their child/children under age of 18.
A selection of items will be available each week. 20 items may be borrowed on your card. Books are usually 4-week loans, Music/DVDs/Magazines are 2-week loans, online items (eg ebooks) are usually 14-21 day loans.
As a registered library member, you can order items via the online catalogue and they will be brought to Underbool for you to collect;
e-resources can be downloaded from home.
Computer access and WiFi
Items can be reserved from other Mildura library branches as well as from libraries in other shires.
Please visit on Tuesdays to find out more.
Library staff will be able to assist you with accessing MyHealth Record via myGov website.
